Sled Running

Last Mountain Lake Historical Site

A contemporary replica of a late 17th century trapper’s sled. These dog sleds were a common means of winter transportation for furs, dry goods, and people making a round trip to a fur trading post. Photographed at the Last Mountain House historic site on the prairies of southern Saskatchewan.
