After a beautiful day on the beach at the resort area of Labadee, Haiti, passengers wander back to the cruise ship for an evening of fine dining and entertainment. A typical Caribbean storm is building that would later prove to be an eventful evening of rough seas and high wind.
Much of what we read and view from the travel agencies are utopian descriptions and perfect images of sun drenched white sand beaches and deep blue calm seas. Although that idealistic interpretation of reality is often true in the Caribbean, a traveller can witness quite the opposite on an ocean cruise in early January. Nevertheless, the sheer number of things to do on board a gargantuan cruise ship will satisfy even the most sceptical amongst us.
