Believable Lies: Tyranny of the Majority

People living in liberal democratic societies often have the notion that if a majority believes and/or accepts an ideology, then it must be true and valid. No where is this assumption farther from the truth then when we apply those same assumptions to politics, religion, or even science.

The vast majority of the public in western societies are often described or likened to sheep being driven to the slaughter house. We will follow a political or religious leader, or accept a scientific theory, often against our own better judgement, because it is the popular or majority thing to do. Very few people are willing to stick their necks out, at least publicly, and swim against the tide. There are those who identify themselves as rebels and/or revolutionaries, but when push comes to shove (violence) they cave in to the majority, just like the rest of us. Only a very small segment of our western population is willing to be beaten and tortured, and eventually put to death because of their political and/or religious beliefs. Often those who suffer the most are Christians. The sad thing is that radical religious and political groups, i.e. terrorists, know this full well. These groups exploit our collective fear of social and economic ostracism, physical and emotional pain, and even death.

As you know, sheep are quite loveable. They have the appearance of innocence and exude gentleness and peacefulness. Some cultures or societies herd or drive sheep, often with the help of a sheep dog – like cattle. Others are led by a true shepherd. The sheep know his or her voice, and theirs alone, and they will follow him and no one else.

As a Canadian, living under the present federal Liberal government, I often feel like I am being viciously driven by a sheep dog to the slaughterhouse. The voice of those who hold to conservative social and political values in Canada are essentially being ignored, and PM Trudeau and his government are literally ramming their agenda(s) through without any true checks and balances in parliament or elsewhere.

Again, we are not being led as Canadians, we are being driven. Our electoral system is predominantly based on the principle of majority rule. Two provinces, Ontario and Quebec, and three major cities, Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal dictate the outcome of every election in our nation. The US, by comparison, through its Electoral College, has built in safeguards that prevent the tyranny of the majority. Without it, the large population centres including the state of California, and the state of New York alone would dominate American life and politics to their own demise.

It is interesting to note that the vast majority of the most influential liberal media is based in these regions of the country – does the liberal New York Times ring an alarm to you? That is also true in Canada. Toronto-based liberal media outlets, including the most biased, the CBC, dominate the news and push their agenda(s) without much opposition except from a few select alternative news media outlets. Again, many Canadians suffer under the illusion that what the dominant majority of liberal news outlets push as news is actually true, and accurately represents what is really going on in our nation. Nothing could be farther from the truth – we are being driven to political, religious, and social outcomes that will eventually erode our historic foundation and destroy our country from within.

Probably the most obvious political, social and religious crisis we are facing in Canada is radical Islam. PM Trudeau and his government rammed through Motion 103 (the Islamophobia motion) in spite of much Canadian public opposition and nearly complete opposition by both the NDP and the Conservative members of parliament. Trudeau appears to have been cozying up to the Muslim Brotherhood and the powerful influence of Wahhabism like these radicalized groups and Sharia Law were the saviours of our troubled nation.

A lie is still a lie no matter how liberal society spins it in the media, and rams it down the throats of Canadian citizens in order to reach a Canadian majority consensus.

It is no secret that I am a follower of Christ, a Christian. I am well aware that there are radical political and religious elements (Islam) in Canadian society that would seek to destroy Christians through threats, violence, and terrorism. Even some of my close friends and associates, moderate Muslims by choice, agree with my analysis. They fled their respective countries to get away from the violent tyranny of the Muslim majority in the Middle East and parts of Europe, and Asia. They know full well the destructive power of radicalized Islam, Sharia law, and the Muslim groups like the Muslim Brotherhood, and ultimately Wahhabism, that seek to destroy the West.

I too, am a sheep, who WILL NOT be driven by the Tyranny of the Majority. I will NOT be intimidated by radical Islam, or any other ideology that seeks to kill and destroy all that is good about our country of Canada and the West in general.

As a follower of Christ, I listen to the voice of my Shepherd, Jesus Christ, and I follow Him willingly and openly in order that I might live the remaining years of my life in peace and serenity in this great nation of ours called Canada.

But because you are not My sheep, you refuse to believe. My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of My hand.John 10:26-28 Berean Study Bible.

Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Joshua 24:14-15 ESV
