Need for Speed: 2017 Provincial 40km ITT

The 2017 Provincial 40km Individual Time Trial was held today in the small community of Kronau, Saskatchewan. Kudos to the Regina Cycling Club executive, volunteers, and officials for successfully hosting the event. A beautiful afternoon and an excellent course provided the right opportunity for participating athletes to set incredible times.

RCC Tuesday Night Racing: The Pursuit

Road racing is brutal, especially when shelled out the back and having to fight a strong North wind solo. I am a bit of a diehardĀ on the bike and refuse to surrenderĀ until the finish line. One never knows when opportunity presents itself. I was fortunate enough to hook on toĀ one of the riders who was also dropped (from the scratch group)Ā and weĀ hammered until Lumsden, where the diminutive climberĀ got away on the hill. Nevertheless, thanks dude for the strong pull!Ā Last to finish…somebody has to finish last šŸ™‚ but I am looking forward to the Individual Time Trial (ITT) next week!

Cyclists have their own language unique to their own sporting sub-culture. If you do not understand, please feel free to ask a question šŸ™‚ Don’t be shy now…

The Exquisite Beauty of Road Cycling

A young cycling aquaintanceĀ postedĀ his video of our Tuesday night road training, last week near Lumsden, Saskatchewan. Unfortunately, I fell off the pace (40+ km/hr)Ā of the peloton a second time, and am not featured in the video, except for perhaps my shadow šŸ˜¦

The club cyclists depicted in the video are members of theĀ Regina Cycling Club. A Phantom 4 and a Go Pro Hero 5 on a gimbal were used to shoot the video content. I am pretty certain Final Cut Pro X was used as the primary video editing suite.

Excellent job!
